Workshop on the “Impact of GST”



The Workshop was hosted by Universal Institute of Management & Technology  on “IMPACT OF GST” .The workshop had brainstorming sessions facilitated by eminent resources persons on the subtopics apart from presentation.

Impact of GST

The workshop was held on 27.09.2017(Wednesday) in seminar hall of admin block from 11.00 A.M.  to 1.00 P.M.

Mr.Harsimran Singh,Inspector, GST Audit Commisionerate, Chandigarh as Speaker and Mr. Anil Khanna,  Chartered Accountant, Proprietor of M/s J.R.Khanna & Co.,as Chief Guest ,were the renowned personalities to grace the occasion.

They have delivered that Goods & Services Tax Law in India is a comprehensivemulti-stagedestination-based tax that will be levied on every value addition.

GST is an indirect tax levied on the supply of goods and services. GST Law has replaced many indirect tax laws that previously existed in India.

They shared their views on mechanism of GST implementation, its advantages over cascading effect.

Overall it was an interactive and immense knowledge sharing session.



NSS Day Celebration



Universal Group of Institution Celebrated National Service Scheme (NSS) Day on 26th Sep 2017 though the day is celebrated on 24th September every year.  The main objective of the event was to give students the introduction about NSS and to encourage them in taking part in various community services according to their own will. This enhances the personality of students and helps them to understand the community in which they will work.

In this event, the introduction about NSS was given by Mr. Munish Kainth, NSS Officer. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar & Mr. Rajdeep Singh, Member, NSS Cell also shared some words with the students on the reflection of NSS. The students were also told about the previous semester activities and forthcoming activities to be done by NSS Cell.

Abstract:

As per the motto “Not Me But You”, a student must understand the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other person’s point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings.

24th Sep is celebrated every year as NSS Day with appropriate programmes and activities. We celebrated the same on 26th Sep 2017 in UIET.

The complete development of a person not only includes education, sports and personality development but also include the social development. In today’s era, social quotient (SQ) has more importance than the intelligent quotient (IQ). The activities in NSS help a person to increase its SQ. Students were told about the NSS activities through power point presentations by Mr. Munish Kainth, NSS Officer, UIET.

  1. An environment of selfless service was created and the students were encouraged to do such kind of activities.
  2. Students get aware about the importance of NSS activities.
  3. Various students were found interested for doing NSS activities as selfless volunteers.

Conclusion:

This type of event is important in order to give the students a push in order to come forward as volunteers for doing various social activities. This will helps in overall development of them and ultimately lead them to become a better person.



Best Engineering College In Punjab Organised NSS ACIVITY SHOWCASE



UIET NSS Unit organised a showcase of NSS Activities on 12 April 2017 at Universal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lalru.

The National Service Scheme was started by Government of India, Ministry of Education and Culture, Govt. of India, in Collaboration with State Government in the year 1969 in 37 selected Universities. Mumbai University has been participating in the scheme right from its inception. At present the scheme is run by the ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports in Central Government and Department of Higher & Technical Education in State Government.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  1. Understand the community in which they work.
  2. Understand themselves in relation to their community.
  3. Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process.
  4. Develop among them a sense of social and civic responsibility.
  5. Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems.
  6. Develop competence required for group living and sharing of responsibilities.
  7. Gain skills in mobilizing community participation.
  8. Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
  9. Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters.
  10. Practice national integration and social harmony.

We have an effervescent NSS unit in UIET which has been established with a rudimentary objective of providing a dais for the interested students to partake in social work during their free time. The report of the activities of the unit for the academic year 2016-17 has been a record of accomplishments and triumphs.

Workshop under Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyaan

A workshop on Digital Economy was organized by NSS Cell of Universal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lalru on 12/01/2017. Experts enlightened the audience with the benefits of Digital Transaction and trained them how to use mobile banking, other mobile based banking tools.

National Voters’ Day

UIET NSS Unit celebrated National Voters’ Day at Universal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lalru on 25/01/2017, the day on which the Election Commission of India (ECI) was established. The objective of this event was to aware students and faculty members about their right to franchise and the importance of voting and increases the voter turnout on polling day.  The focus was on popularizing electoral participation and disseminating information about electoral processes.

Flag March

A flag March was organised by the NSS Volunteers on 01/02/2017 within the campus to aware the students, shopkeepers in UGI Market, sweepers etc. about the digital transactions under the theme- “Transformation of India from ‘Cash’ to ‘Cash Less’ society”.

World Water Day

NSS Unit celebrated World Water Day on 21/03/2017 to highlight the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.

NSS Showcase

Mr. Munish Kainth, NSS Officer highlighted the various activities through a presentation which were held under the shadow of UIET NSS Unit on 12/04/2017.

Dr. Swati Sharma- Principal UIET, Head of departments, faculty members and students attended this presentation. Principal UIET highly appreciated the efforts of NSS Unit and motivated to organise as such events in near future.
