ME Deptt. of UIET organised an Industrial visit to SAMARAT FORGING LTD. GHOLLU MAZRA, DERA BASSI

SAMARAT FORGING Ltd. is one of the top manufacturers of Cam and Crank Shafts in India. Also SAMARAT FORGING is a leading manufacturer and exporter of Cam shaft in India. The plant is situated near toll plaza Ghollu Mazra Industrial area Dera Bassi and is spread in 11 acres.

 

The Students of Mechanical Engineering got this opportunity with the kind cooperation of Er Sandeep Sangwan HOD ME Dept., U.I.E.T Lalru. The students learnt about the applications Hydraulic and Pneumatic Energy in forging processes, heat treatment process for increasing or decreasing hardness of material. Before proceeding to the manufacturing section, students were briefly explained about basic concept of press working based on hydraulic and pneumatic pressure, EDM process & designs of dies used in manufacturing processes. Mr. Pargat Singh Plant in-charge briefed the students about the processes and their practical applications which are related to the basic concepts of manufacturing Engineering that students are studying in their current curriculum. A number of queries were asked by the students on processes and their working. The students also visited the tool room of the Samrat Forging where they got the opportunity to see tool dies in which they saw the maximum numbers of tool dies. There was a good interaction between students and room in charge. The students felt highly enthusiastic and motivated after this visit. We are very thankful to Mr. Attri HR manager Samrat forging Ltd for providing this golden opportunity.
