UGI celebrated Basant Panchami on 1st Feb 2017 with zeal and enthusiasm. The Principal of  DSCGE threw light on the importance on the day and stressed upon the fact that religious and moral values inculcated through such functions paves way for the holistic development of the individual. 'Basant Panchmi" is an occasion which marks the advent of the spring season and is also celebrate to worship Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. This day was celebrated in our college with great fervour and fanfare. The program was divided in two phases. In the 1st phase there was Kite Decoration Competition and Kite flying Competition while in the 2nd phase there was cultural program. The Chairman  of UGI Dr. Gurpreet Singh highlighted the importance of this cultural festival as it is celebrated to mark the change of season. The spring season is symbolic rebirth of nature and new beginnings.
