Cultural Committee of UGI celebrated Hariyali Teej in the college premises with great fervor on July, 2017. Ms. Prabhjot Jolly, Director Academic, UGI and Dr. Kompal Wadhawan , Principal & Convener, Cultural Committee UGI welcomed Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Chairman UGI. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Chairman, UGI emphasized on the importance of festivals in life. Students of B.Ed presented a speech to highlight the significance of Teej. Various cultural activities like Gidda, Bhangra, Haryanvi Dance were performed by the students. A musical performance was presented by the students in the form of folk song. Teej is incomplete without Mehandi and Bangles. Bangles were displayed and students exhibited their talents by making beautiful Mehandi designs. Games for female teaching staff like ‘Stick Bindi’, ‘Bangle wearing Competition’ were also the attraction of the celebration. Delightful feast of Ghevar added sweetness to the celebrations. The function concluded with the tradition of giving swing to ShriRadha and Krishna following which all enjoyed the swings.
