Universal College, Ballopur, Lalru celebrated World Ozone Day on Sep,16, 2017. Based on the theme “Caring for all life under the sun”, Prof.(Dr.) S.K Kansal from Dr.S.S Bhatnagar University Institute Of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh, was the Resource person.  The event started with lamp lighting ceremony.The chief guest was honoured with token of regard from HOI, Dr. L.K. Attri. The event was then inaugurated with the brief introduction about the guest and the importance of World Ozone  Day by the Head of Institution.

 

The technical session was started with the key note address by Prof.(Dr.) S.K Kansal who enlightened the audience by his worthy words. He initially gave a brief introduction about the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer. He further explained that this year marks the 30th anniversary of Montreal Protocol.  Prof. Kansal also explained the  various preventive measures being adopted worldwide, different International Summits and meetings for ozone conservation. He awared the students that the black hole on ozone layer start healing up now and all need to contribute for declining pollution.
