UCACS organized "one day workshop on Crop residual management" collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kurali, SAS Nagar (PB)

Last Friday on date 16/11/2018, "one day workshop on Crop residual management" collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kurali, SAS Nagar (PB) organized by Department of Agriculture (UCACS). In the first session welcome speech delivered by Dr. Balvir Kumar (HOD) and Dr. Kompal Wadhawan (Principal UCACS) to adore our guest along with appreciation token, their after inaugurated the workshop in the presence of our chief guest Dr. Yashwant Singh (Deputy Director, KVK, Kurali), Dr. Vikas (Assistant Professor, PAU) and Dr. Manish (Assistant Professor, PAU). First of all Dr. Yashwant Singh delivered their speech on crop residue management, their importance, advantages and disadvantages for farmer, human health and environment and also aware about why crop residue management is important for agriculture in current days . We have organized some competitions like Speech, Poster Making and Slogan writing for students and our main focus to aware the student regarding to crop residue management with their talent and creativity. There are seven students delivered speech on crop residue management and their performance judged by our guest and Dr. Manpreet Grewal, Principal (UCL). After completing speech competition judges declared result and First position hold by Yabi Makcha (B.Sc. III rd year), Second by Amar Kumar (B.Sc. I st year) and Third by Ambika Yadav (B.Sc. II nd year); in the presence of Dr. Virender Kaur (Director of Academics, UGI), chief guest Dr. Yashwant Singh (Deputy Director, KVK, Kurali), Dr. Kompal Wadhawan (Principal UCACS) and other guest members distributed the prizes for wining participants. After speech competition poster and slogan presentation was started, in poster competition six students and slogan writing Nine students participated, our judges seen their posters and slogans and asked some question to participants related to their poster and slogan topics at the end of first session. Second session was started results of competition and distributed prize of poster making competition, in this competition first position hold by Sapna (B.Sc. III rd year), second by Shabnam (B.Sc. III rd year) and third by Ishan Verma (B.Sc. I st year), their after Slogan competition result announced by judges and first position hold by Shivani (B.Sc. I st year), second by Kritika (B.Sc. III rd year) and third by Meenakshi (B.Sc. II nd year). In the end of second session Dr. Kompal Wadhawan (Principal UCACS) delivered vote of thanks and also appreciated for the KVK, Kurali which are involved in this type of programmes.
